I wonder how many meetings it took for them to decide that hiding the disable the snapping option in behind 2 menus was the way to go only to have it not work in the first place. Searching forums on how to do the most basic of tasks really paints the perfect pictures of the quality of this software. It's totally laughable, I'd upload a video, but I really don't care to spend more time than sharing this review. the move tool is the equivalent of a vigilante in the wild west. I've watched the Sketchup tutorial videos and they say to stop learning curve frustrations "master the move tool," and I'll tell you there is no way you can master a tool that when the only way you have to disable snapping for the interface, doesn't work. This leaves you trying workarounds like the fabled "move" tool and as soon as you try it on any endpoint your endpoint will snap to an invisible location, something that no one in their mind would want to have happened, but for of course Sketchup Devs and QA. You type in the new value, you press enter and for no reason or explanation, the length isn't adjusted. For example, You cannot disable snapping, even if you disable snapping, it remains on and it prevents you from doing so many things like making a line the exact length that you need it to be after creating the line.īTW, you cannot just edit an object's length by putting a new value in the editable length field, because that will do nothing. The interface is clunking, so clunking that it's unforgivable. I've been at this for 6 hours and so far I've barely managed to draw the shape of my yard with accurate measurements and now trying to complete the shape of my house, and it's impossible.
